D02 Kunming/ Zhongdian (Shangri-La)

Breakfast at hotel  

Transfer from hotel to airport for flight to Zhongdian (Shangri-La)  
Arrival Zhongdian (Shangri-La) – a  town with a very Tibetan atmosphere. It is situated 198km north of

Lijiang at 3200m altitude and very close to the Tibetan border, known as little Tibet. 

Lunch at local restaurant  

Transfer to visit the Guihua Monastery, “Ni Ru Village”,  also known as Pottery Village and with Tibetan family workshops of marking  pottery vessels and a Tibetan Village

D03 Zhongdian (Shangri-La)/ Lijiang

Breakfast at hotel  
Transfer to Lijiang via the little Zhongdian (Shangri-La) and visit Tiger Leaping Gorges on Yangtze en route with lunch at local restaurant

D04 Lijiang

Visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with cable car, Shuhe Village and the residence of Joseph Rock, who lived there from 1919-1949 to research Lijiang and the Tibetan culture and nature as reporter of American National Georgraphic. Dayan ancient town and with lunch

D05 Lijiang/ Dali

Transfer to Dali - it is situated in the northwest of Yunnan province, about 400km away from Kunming, at an altitude of 1900 meter. On the way visit Xizhou-Village which offers an opportunity to explore Three Course Tea with the local performance

D06 Dali

Breakfast at hotel  

Visit the colourful Shaping Market on every Monday where you can buy everything from Tobacco, melon seeds and headdresses to embroidered shoes or on the other weekdays we visit a Cancun Village

Visit Cangshan Mountain -cable up and down or walk down  (about 1.5 hrs)  and visit Three Pagoda

D07 Dali/ Kunming

Breakfast at hotel  
Transfer to airport for flight to Kunming  

Arrival Kunming and then proceed to visit the famous Stone Forest, a massive collection of grey limestone pillars, split by rain water and eroded to their fanciful forms, the tallest standing 30m high.

D08 Kunming/ Guilin

Transfer to airport for flight to Guilin  
Arrival Guilin and transfer to hotel

D09 Guilin/Yangshuo/Guilin

Breakfast at hotel  
Cruising on Li River to Yangshuo, passes extraordinary peaks, sprays of bamboo lining, riverbanks, fishers in small boats and picturesque villages. Lunch at local restaurant after disembarkation. 
Transfer back to Guilin

D10 Guilin/ Guangzhou/ Hong Kong

Breakfast at hotel  
Transfer to airport for flight to Guangzhou  

Arrival Guangzhou and followed by a city tour includes Chan’s Ancestor Temple and Nanyue Museum. Afterwards, walking through the old street in Shamian Island where you can see what’s left behind from the olden days with those colonial style English and French architectures. 

Lunch at local restaurant and then transfer to train station for train to Hong Kong

Remarks:
01> Blackout dates: 12-21 Feb 2010 (Chinese New Year), 30 Apr-03 May 2010 (Labour Day Holiday) and 28 Sep - 08 Oct 2010 (National Day Holiday).
02> On day 09, lunch to be served on Li River cruise is not suitable for western travellers and therefore, it will be arranged at a local restaurant in Yangshuo after disembarkation.
03> There are only English-speaking guides available in Lijiang, Dali and Zhongdian.  They are marginally reached the standard of other cities in China.
04> Yunnan cuisine is an amalgam of Chinese and ethnic minorities cuisines.  Somehow, it is not the right appetite to western tourists.
